Spenser’s Hope offers a variety of services to families experiencing preterm labor and premature birth.

We offer a series of educational brochures designed to educate, as well as comfort and calm.

In addition, Spenser’s Hope donates Preemie Quilts to the NICU at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, Maryland.  The quilts measure 20” x 24” and are made to comfort the preemie as well as the parents.  While 20” x 24” seems incredibly small, they are more than big enough to completely cover most preemies – many with room to spare.  The quilts provide a wonderful marker for parents to see how far their child has come since birth.

If you have experienced the death of your baby, Spenser’s Hope offers two services to help you through this terrible time.  Spenser’s Hope makes “Affirmation of Life” plaques which commemorate your baby’s life and serve as an everlasting reminder that your child was here and will always be loved.  These plaques are provided free of charge.  Spenser’s Hope also offers information on how to be removed from baby and new parent related mailing lists.

In addition to the above current services that Spenser’s Hope offers, there is one additional service that we are striving for.  We hope to raise enough money to be able to fund medical research into the problem of preterm labor.

Spenser’s Hope greatly increases public awareness of the problem of preterm labor and premature birth.  Many people are unaware of the major impact that these have on thousands of families every day.  By getting the word out and raising public awareness, we hope to bring this issue to the forefront.  More attention equates to more money, more research, and more answers – hopefully even a cure.
